Notes: Former students in Sherrie Pinio's second grade class at Harper Elementary School created "time capsules" in tin cans. Principal Toni Shiners, now assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, agreed to set the capsules aside in a storage area until the teens had graduated from high school. The young people were recently given an opportunity to open the cans they'd filled as children. Comments by graduate Charlotte Boyle, and parent Angela Sopko.
