Mrs. R. J. Dunham has returned from New York.
Mrs. W. H. Field is spending a few weeks in Rutland, Vt.
Mr. Andrew Davis spent a few days at his home last week.
Miss Alice Fitzgerald is spending a few days at Saugatuck, Mich.
Mr. Ellicott of Baltimore, Md., is the guest of Mrs. George Forest.
Mr. H. C. Seymour is ivisiting his mother and sister at Duluth, Minn.
Mrs. Yuille of Chicago is the guest of her sister, Mrs. G. H. McIlvane.
Mr. Robert Hudson, who has been ill for the past week, is improving.
Mrs. H. Tresch and children are spending a few weeks at La Salle, Ill.
Mrs. C. L. Williams has returned home after spending a few weeks in the east.
W. W. Case of Winnetka has moved into Mr. Gonsaloes' new house on Darroch Road.
Mrs. Asa Fessenden and children are the guests of Mrs. W. S. Hamm on Scott avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Wymann and family spent a day last week in Michigan City, Ind.
Miss Violet Hawkins, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. S. E. Barnes, has gone to Evanston.
Mr. Ross Linville spent Saturday and Sunday at the Lomar fruit farm at Benton Harbor, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Furgeson of Chicago were the guests of Mrs. Furgeson's sister, Mrs. Paul Brandl.
Mrs. Lillian Cummings has moved into the flat recently occupied by Mr. Overlock at 988 Linden avenue.
The Ladies' Aid society of the Glencoe church held a meeting at the home of Mrs. Wm. B. Leach Tuesday.
On account of the increase of business, the White City Grocery and Market have put on another delivery wagon.
Mr. J. Linville is installing a new hot water plant in his building at the corner of Linden and Gage streets.
Mr. John Dahl's youngest son was badly poisoned by eating berries in the woods. From latest reports he is improving.
Mrs. Blanchard and Mrs. Harrison are spending the remainder of the summer with their mother, Mrs. A. L. Howard.
Mr. Norman Dean is taking an extended vacation at his home after his strenuous duties as railroad superintendent in Brazil.
J. F. Porter and family have returned from Canada, where they have been camping in the mountains for the past few weeks.
Mrs. S. E. Barnes has returned after spending two weeks in her old home at Kankakee, Ill. Her brother, Harold, accompanied her.
A young collie belonging to C. Wickens was run over by an automobile Sunday evening and injured so badly he had to be shot.
Mr. Earnest Pavey has returned from England, bringing his wife with him. They are stopping at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Whitfield.
Dr. Fletcher and son, Richard, have returned from Boston and Niagara Falls, where the doctor has been attending the National Medical convention.
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Curran of Irving Park were calling on old friends Thursday and Friday. Mr. Curran was an old-time resident of Hubbard Woods.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Highland and family of Chicago were the guests of Mrs. M. Carey one day last week.
Mr. W. Schuster and family have moved into their new home on Wentworth avenue.
A Mr. Brown, living at Ravenswood, while bathing in Lake Michigan near the water works here last Saturday, went beyond his depth and was nearly drowned. He was rescued with difficulty by A. Udelhofen and Conrad Kempschmit who are employes at the water works. This calls to mind another case of this kind recently which resulted fatally not far from this same spot. Life saving apparatus should be installed somewhere along the beach in Winnetka in view of the many people who use the lake for bathing.
