- Taxes for the year 1912 will be collected. Initially Alderman Rossbach had been opposed to the ordinance, but when Mayor Payden explained that taxes could go into default if Rossbach voted against the ordinance, he changed his mind. $163,005,.79 will be paid as taxes for real and personal property. William S. Mason has given property to the City of Evanston for a playground. The location is the block between Main and Lee St. near Washington School.
