- Elyria, Ohio, Sept. 12. Oberlin business men petitioned for a hearing before O.E. Haserodt, Lorain county auditor. The business men wanted to compel the college to pay taxes on its $1,000,000 endowment fund increased by beneficial trades in the stock market. James L. Serance, college treasurer, disputes the petition saying the college needs all the money it can get.
