Munro, John (Died)

John Gordon Munro, 66 years old, passed away on Christmas day at his home, 1119 Elmwood avenue, Wilmette. Born near Aberdeen, Scotland, he entered the employ of Carson Pirie Scott and company, Chicago dry goods and department store firm, when he came to the United States in 1890 and at the time of his retirement, five years ago, was a buyer for that concern. Services were held on Monday afternoon at the First Congregational church, Wilmette. Mr. Munro is survived by four daughters, all of whom live at the Elmwood avenue home. They are: Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Miss Catharine Munro, and Miss Jean Munro.
