- A Chicago developer involved in the Wilmette Village Center LLC group that unsuccessfully tried to develop the 600 block of Green Bay Road in Wilmette in 2009, was arrested at the Denver Airport and charged in the murder-for-hire scheme of a Florida businessmen. Mike Zimmerman, Wilmette corporate counsel, suggested the arrest might affect a suit brought against the village by Wilmette Village Center LLC in January. The FBI conducted an investigation following allegations made by Barbara Jean Blackmore of Colorado.
