Wilmette Baptist Church of which Dr. George P. (sic) Allison is pastor, is launching a Silver Jubilee campaign. Charles E. Thompson and Charles O. Main members of celebration committee. Robert J. Lascelles is publicity chairman. Founders of the church were P. R. Finlay, John D. Greig, Alpheus E. White, Charles L. Major, Edwin Phelps, and Oscar W. Schmidt. The latter three are still active in village affairs. Pastors were Rev. B. F. Taber, Rev. Francis C. Stiffler, and currently Rev. George D. Allison. The following charter members still reside in the community: Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Gathercoal, Mrs. John Segsworth, Mrs. H. D. Davisson, Mr. and Mrs. David Nelson, Mrs. Howard Bowen, Charles L. Major, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Phelps, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Schmidt, Mrs. W. J. Weldon, Mrs. Nettie Middleton, Mr. and Mrs. John C Blaylock, and Mrs. Charlotte Stephens. Church school director is Joseph D. Dingle. Prof. Charles S. Graden is teaching the adult Bible class. Charles V. Clark is chairman of the Board of Deacons, and Frank G. Guthridge is chairman of trustees. The Baptist Woman's Society is guided by Mrs. John M. Davis. Miss Emma Brodbeck is the church's foreign missionary. Music director is Miss Lydia Koch.
