- Harvey N. Bowen, 100, a former Wilmette resident, died the morning of Dec. 21 in Tucson, Ariz.
Mr. Bowen was born Dec. 19, 1902 in Chicago. He grew up and lived in the Wilmette area until 1937. On June 19, 1926, he married Sylvia Esther Turner, remaining wed for 71 years until her death in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Theodore (Ann) Bowen of Tucson, Ariz., and Howard (Carole) Bowen of Northbrook; a daughter, Mary Louise Bowen (Philip) Kelley of Chiloquin, Oregon; five grandchildren, Warren M. (Nancy) Alter of Tucson, Patti Ann (Chuck) Hess of Maui, Hawaii, Margaret Grace Green of Atlanta, Colin Kelley of Seattle and Katie Kelley of Boston; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ester (nee Turner) Bowen.
