- William H. Thigpen, 61, died July 9 of a heart attack at his Winnetka home. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Opdycke Thigpen; his children, Laura T. Gilbert, James C. Thigpen and Kelly E. Thigpen; his mother, Dixie Lee Thigpen of Knoxville, Tenn. his sister and brothers, Deanna Mitchem, Charles C. Thigpen and Walter K. Thigpen, and his stepdaughters, Anna Caldwell and Abigail Caldell.
