- John Ailes Taft, 90, died August 22 at his home in Laguna Hills, California. He was preceded in death by his wife and daugher Mildred Bent and Mildred Ann Taft. He is survived by his sons, John A. Taft, of Washington, Indiana, and Robert B. Taft, of Lander, Wyoming; a daughter, Margo Wigley, of Seattle, Washington; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Stanberg of San Pedro, California; and Jane Stafford of Wilmette. Services were August 17 in the chapel at 1104 Waukegan Road, Glenview, with the Rev. Kermit Krueger of Hemmemway Church officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie.
