Mr. McClelland was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Baker McClelland of Wilmette and Winnetka; and a sister Mary E. McClelland.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila M. (Stanley) Grace of Winnetka and Jean M. (Thomas) Peterson of Winnetka; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment were private.
