- Norbert H. McDaniel of Wilmette died Feb. 6 at St. Francis Hospital. He was 72. A lifelong resident of Wilmette, he was the great grandson of Alexander McDaniel, one of the founders of Wilmette.
His wife, Donna, survives him, as well as two brothers, William and Francis, and four nephews. His sister, Sister Catherine Frances, died before him. A funeral mass was said Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Wilmette.
