- John J. Hager died Jan. 29 while on vacation in Arizona. He was 81. A native of Terre Haute, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Marie, on June 28, 1994. Survivors include two sons, John H. (Sally) of Wilmette and David (Maureen) of Inverness; a daughter, Kathleen (Richard) Miller of Northbrook; and seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 3 at St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church.
