- Michael J. Verta Sr., 74, of Winnetka, died March 26, 1999 in Evanston. Survivors include his wife, Marie (née Mazzetta); a son, Michael J. (Kathleen) Verta Jr. of Kenilworth; one daughter, Lynn (Dean) Naylor of Hayden, Idaho; two grandchildren; a brother, Angelo Verta of Chicago; and a sister, Rita Granat of Chicago. Preceded in death by his brother, Frank, and sister, Amelia Mais.
