- Lloyd Blim Bachtel, 88, died at Evanston Hospital on July 26. He was preceded in death by his first and second wives, Margaret Hamill and Hazel Harden. He is survived by five daughters, Margot Carlson of California, Barbara Mitchel of Wilmette, Ruth Long of California, Judith McCarthy of Wilmette, and Mary Ann Hurley of Chicago; 28 grandchidren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on July 29 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Wilmette. Burial was at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
