- Raymond J. Mals, 81, died Jan. 30 at the Lake Forest Place Balmoral Care Center. Mr. Mals was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Canonsburg, Pa., one of eight children of Stanley and Antoinette Mals. He married Margaret "Meg" Versino in 1947. Survivors include his wife, Meg (nee Versino), his daughters, Christine (Stuart) LaFontaine, Mary Kay (James) Bissing, Nancy (John) Doherty, Peggy (Thomas) Doetsch and Julie (Steven) Bonebrake; his sons, Michael (Dorsey) Mals and Raymond (Kathy) Mals, Jr.; 19 grandchildren; one great-grand child; two brothers; and two sisters. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at St. Joseph's Church, Lake Avenue and Ridge Road in Wilmette. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
