New Trier: Play explores a Greek Myth

Freshman play, "Journey into a Dream," based on the myth of Theseus, list of crew and cast members. Elizabeth Rich and Tom Robson of the Writers' Theatre are directors, and New Trier's Frank Schneider and Carol Andrews are set and costume designers. Assistant directors are Linda Hyatt, Brian Frost and Amy Smietana; Students in Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble will visit Orchestra Hall on Thursday February 19; Scholastic Bowl Team won the Washington University Academic Challenge on January 31 beating 24 teams from four states. Seniors Sam Grossberg and Michael Evans selected to All-Tournament Team. Senior Yian Chen and juniors Cliff Chang, Blair Nathan and Greg Poulos also contributed to the team's success; John Thomson of the music department elected to the Illinois Board of Directors Hall of Fame; Benefit concert February 22 to underwrite the purchase of an artist level English horn for the music department. Performance by professional musicians, violinist Raya Beatty and pianist Andrea Swan, will be followed by reception. Contact person is Leslie Carothers.
