Frank O. Young, who has been a resident of Wilmette for 10 years, died Sunday night and funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Joshua P. Young, 1030 Ashland avenue, and at Mount Hope chapel.
Mr. Young, who had been visiting with his children in the East this summer, was anxious to cast his vote at the election on November 4 and returned to Wilmette. Last Thursday he wrote his sons that he had "helped his country by voting for the men who would serve the nation best."
He was a pioneer dealer in Chicago real estate and was known as an authority on suburban and acre property values. In 1877 he subdivided the Young farm at South Lawn and from that subdivision grew Harvey, Illinois.
He was born in New York state and was brought to Chicago when a child. He later received a degree from Cornell university. In 1878 he married Alice L. Eames.
Mr. Young is survived by his widow, Mrs. Alice Young, and five children, Olive M. Young, Mrs. Helen Hill, Joshua P. Spencer E. and Frank O. Jr.- Featured Link
