- Caroline Elizabeth Murray and Kurt Brinkley DeGroot were married June 14 in a ceremmony at Sts. Faith, Hope and Charity Church in Winnetka. The bride is the daughter of James C. and Sandra Murray of Wilmette. The bridegroom is the son of L. Peter and Mary Lee DeGroot III of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska. The maids of honor were Becca Coggins of Lawrence, Kansas, and Janeen Phillips of Chicago, formerly of Wilmette. The best man was L. Peter DeGroot IV of Chicago, brother of the groom. The bridesmaids were Christine Cowden of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; Meridith Grasshoff of Chicago, formerly of Bloomfield Hills; Brooke Gregory of Chicago, formerly of Wilmette; Kate Hartman of Kansas City, Kansas; Kathleen Turner Platt of Chicago, formerly of Kansas City; and Marni Ashe Zenkewicz of Chicago, formerly of St. Louis. The groomsmen were James C. Murray III of Chicago, brother of the bride; Matthew Dowd, Edward Friedland and Tyler Owen, all of Omaha, Nebraska; Scott Hegstrom of New York City, New York; Thomas McGowen of San Francisco, California; and Joseph Platt of Chicago, formerly of Omaha. The ushers were Adam Beckman and Joseph Dahir of Chicago, and Greg McGowan of Dallas, Texas.
