Mrs. Isabella Reid dies at home of daughter here

The death of Mrs. Isabella Balmer Reid, mother of Mrs. William J. Weldon of 1340 Greenwood avenue, occurred Thursday, May 19, at Mrs. Weldon's home. Funeral services were held Staurday [sic], May 21, at the home at 1:30 o'clock, the Rev. Francis Stifler officiating. Burial was at Mount Greenwood.
Mrs. Reid died at the age of 81 years, after many years of active service in church work. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1845, and came to this country forty years ago, locating in Chicago. Mrs. Reid was an active member of the Baptist church of Englewood. She had been making her home for the past ten years with her daughter, Mrs. William J. Weldon.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William J. Weldon, and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, both of Wilmette; and two sons, James and William Reid both of Chicago.
A granddaughter, Miss Isabelle Weldon who is attending Knox college, Galesburg, Ill., returned home to attend the funeral services.- Featured Link
