- Julie Hamos, D-18th and state Sen. Jeff Schoenberg, D-9th participated in a town meeting Monday at Wilmette junior High School with a panel of area experts on school reform developments. They included District 39 Superintendent Glenn "Max" McGee. McGee shares Gov. Rod Blagojevich's conviction that part of the problem faced by Illinois in serving students is caused by an entrenched bureaucracy in the Illinois State Board of Education. The article discusses proposed reforms, but concludes that more state money is not forthcoming because of budget problems at the state level.
