Richard D. Donoghue, 79, died Feb. 1, in his Wilmette home.

Mr. Donoghue was born in Lowell, Mass. and raised in Teaneck, N.J. He met his first wife, Suzanne (nee Loughlin) after the war. They were married at Gesu Church in Toledo, Ohio in 1949 and were married for 50 years prior to her death in 2000. Mr. Donoghue is survived by his second wife, Marcelina (nee Jesiotr); three sons, Dennis (Collette) Donoghue, of Kenilworth, Lawrence (Shelagh) Donoghue, of Wilmette, and Peter (Patricia Hannon) Donoghue of Chicago; two daughters, Ann (Gerald) Meiners, of Des Moines, Iowa, Kathleen "Noony" (Jack) Malone, of Upper Arlington, Ohio; nine granddaughters; five grandsons; and a brother, Kenneth (Gloria) Donoghue of Pearl River, N.Y. He precedeased by his brother, Robert Donoghue.
