Robert Malyon Haas dies; brought here for burial

Robert Malyon Haas, 19, son of George E. Haas, of Cleveland, formerly of 726 Elmwood avenue, Wilmette, died last Sunday at Ithaca, N. Y., where he was a sophomore at Cornell university and a member of Signa Nu fraternity. The remains were brought to Wilmette, where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of W. O. Haas, 621 Park Avenue, an uncle of Robert. The youth died of meningitis. He was taken to the university infirmary Tuesday of last week. His mother, who died eight years ago, was a charter member of the Wilmette Baptist church, while Robert was a member of the Baptist Church of the Master in Cleveland, where the family moved from Wilmette in 1920. The only immediate survivor is his father. The Rev. George D. Allison, pastor of Wilmette Baptist church, conducted the funeral services. Burial took place at Rosehill cemetery, where Mrs. George E. Haas, Robert’s mother, is also buried.
