- Edward J. Ward, 79, a lifelong resident of Evanston, died May 18 at his home. He was born Oct. 6, 1924.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty J. (nee Wenger); son Timothy (Stephanie) of Bremen, Ind.; daughters Mary Lou (Mike) Spieth of Olney, Ill., Kathleen (Jeff) Huber of Morton Grove, Patti (Frank) Girardi of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Maureen Ward of Highland Park and Elizabeth B. (William Quinn) Ward of Evanston; 12 grandchildren; brothers Charles (Jane) of West Dundee, Ill., Richard (Carol) of Evanston and Bruce of Wilmette; and sister Betty (Dick) Burke of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Interment was private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.
