- Jens Jensen, 91, died October 1 [1951] at his home in Ellison Bay, Wis., following a lingering illness. Mr. Jensen was prominent for the development of the Chicago park system and as the landscape architect for the estates of National figures and well known North Shore residents. He emmigrated from hisnative Denmark at the age of 24. He moved to Wilmette not long after he started his own landscape-architect business in 1920 and lived at 1211 Elmwood Avenue until 1935, when he moved to Ellison Bay and founded the Clearing School of Art. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1934 shortly before her death. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Martha Moline and Mrs. Katherine Wheeler, both of Wilmette, and Mrs. Edith Johnson of Highland Park; a son, Edward C. Jensen of Honolulu, T.H.; Five grandsons; and six great-grandsons.
