Notes: Barbara "Babs" Karsten Griffis, 77, a lifetime resident of Lake Forest, died June 30 in Westmoreland Nursing Center in Lake Forest. She was born March 22, 1927 in Lake Forest to the late William H. and Viola Karsten. Her husband, Kenneth E., died in 1994. She is survived by her children, Randy (Kathie) of Wilmette, Bill (Lynn) of Glenview and Holly (Scott) McDonald of Lake Forest; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Mark Karsten. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 10, in Lake Forest Cemetery.
