- Mrs. Anna Marie Huerter, 78, of 2033 Schiller Avenue, died Monday, June 13, in Wilmette. She was born in the former Village of Gross Point and has lived in the area all her life. Her father, the late John Schaefer, was said to be the first white child born here. Her son, Peter Huerter, died while in service during the first world war. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Anna Meier of Glenview, Mrs. Beatrice Bleser, and Mrs. Margaret Shanahan of Wilmette; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Peters, Mrs. Margaret Miller, and Mrs. Helen Schaefer all of Wilmette and two brothers, Peter and George Schaefer of Evanston. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
