- John R. Long, 82, died Dec. 20 at the Presbyterian Homes in Evanston.
Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Chicago, Mr. Long was raised in Golf, Ill.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Jean (née Wildman) Long, and his second wife, Jane Maynard.
Survivors include his sons Stephen K. of Columbus, Ohio, and J. Craig (Kathleen) of Evanston; one grandchild; stepsons David, Craig, John, Ted and Brian Maynard; brother Richard (Anne) of Myersville, Md.; and four nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Dec. 23 in the Elliott Chapel of the Presbyterian Homes. An additional memorial service is to take place in spring 2005 in Wilmington, Del.
