- Joseph R. Schmidt of 973 Willow Rd., Winnetka, died Jan. 9 at age 89 in St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Schmidt is survived by his wife, Mary; sons Donald of Northfield, Joseph and Gilbert, both of Winnetka; and a daughter, Marion Semmerling, formerly of Niles.
