- Mrs. Lena Emilie Martin, 79 years old, widow of Hugo W. C. Martin, died last Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Hoffman, 1638 Washington avenue, where she had lived since the family came to Wilmette 17 years ago. Mrs. Martin was born in Chicago, the daughter of Robert Kirchner, a pioneer planing mill operator, whose mill and home both were destroyed in the great Chicago fire of 1871. Surviving her, besides Mrs. Hoffman, are a son, Victor, and two brothers, Alfred and Arthur Kirchner. Burial was in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born in Chicago, the daughter of Robert Kirchner.
