- A quirk of the village's history is at the heart of a dispute over a subdivision in the west side of the village, where neighbors say a home planned for a vacant lot will encroach too far onto a swath of open yards. In a January 17 hearing, the Plan Commission voted unanimously to give tentative approval to resbdivide 517 Greenwood Ave., a triangular lot west of Green Bay Road that now holds one house on its eastern portion. The case is scheduled to go before the Village Board Feb. 13. Comments by developer, Wilmette architect Chip Hackley, and neighbor, Bob Yohanan
