- Winter Carnival takes place Friday throughout the entire WInnetka campus. The event will raise money for Habitat for Humanity in order to construct a house in North Chicago for a family of four that New Trier seniors build themselves. Comments on the event by senior class president Charlie Vainder and class co-vice president Joe Presser. Descriptions of attractions including old favorite such as the bungee run, karaoke, Bozo Buckets and pick-a-ducky, and a new event Dodge Ball Survival. The carnival has gathered support from the following underwriters thus far: Steven and Nancy Abraham, Mike and Maryann Atkinson, the Max Cohen family, Mark and Liza Ferguson, Martha and Rich Melman, Helen and Rick Nelson, the Noyes family, and the Yohanan family.
