- New Trier junior Amy Jaeschke and Loyola Academy senior Brittany McCoy have earned All-State recognition from the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association; Monica Wolf of Wilmette, age 12, will represent the Wilmette Park District gymnastics team at the Level 8 Regional Championships April 8-9 in Indianapolis; Gary Berliant of Wilmette will compete in both the 400-meter walk and the 800-meter walk, representing Special Olympics Illinois at the first-ever Special Olympics USA National Games July 2-7 in Ames, Iowa; Brian Ruberry, freshman from Wilmette, is member of Bentley College (Waltham, Mass.) men's lacross team
