- Thomas H. Kempner, 79, of Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of Northbrook, died Feb. 24 in Tucson.
Mr. Kempner was born Oct. 23, 1926 in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, née Vander Veen; three daughters, Elisabeth (Phil Thompson) of Galena, Laura (Kurt Giese) of Milwaukee and Laurel (Ray) Hernandez of Zion; three sons, Scott (Caralyn) of Northbrook, Steven of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Gary Kuecker of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren, Casey, Jamie and Gina Kempner of Northbrook, and Nicole and Raymond Jr. Hernandez of Zion; a great-grandchild, Ariana Hernandez of Zion; and a sister, Dorothy (Richard) Nopar of Wilmette.
