- Catherine "Kay" Heerey Sullivan, 88, of Wilmette died April 13 in her home.
Mrs. Sullivan was born Nov. 8, 1917 in Chicago to Edwin J. and Nora McGrath Heerey. In 1980, Catherine founded Kay's Treasured Kookbooks, servicing clients across the world interested in purchasing or selling out-of-print or vintage cookbooks.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, George Penman Sr.; two sons, George P., Jr. (Dorothy Turek) and Daniel J.; one daughter, Maripat (Robert L., Sr.) Higgins; eight grandchildren, Nora L., Patrick T., Mary Cathlin, Kevin G. Sullivan and Robert L., (Jen) Jr., Thomas M., Daniel O. and Karen I. Higgins and Katia N. Correa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Joseph; and three daughters, Kathleen (Cesar) Correa, Catherine and Mary; and one grandson, Leroy George Higgins..
Services were held on April 17 at Ss. Faith, Hope and Charity in Winnetka.
