- WFMT will broadcast live and recorded performances Suncay by students, faculty and alumni of the Music Institute of Chicago. David Schrader will play the organ, Abe Stokman will do jazz improvisation, Sel Kardan adn Rachel Bardon will be on hand. Also recorded music by alums such as the Lincoln Trio, the Ying Quartet and Liz Phair will be played. This is part of the MIC's 75th anniversary.
Family Night: Gary Gand's Pro Blues Jam on Tuesday nights at Gabe's Backstage Lounge in Highwood has celebrity musicians. Recently TV chef Gale Gand and her son Gio participated along with guest drummer Billyl Shaffer of Arlington Heights, Jim Hines of Winnetka, touring drummer with Brian Wilson, also played with house band regulars Ari Mintz, Scott Van Wagoner and Joan Gand of Northfield, Gale's sister-in-law. - Date of Publication
