- The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian held its annual benefit at the museum May 20 and celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late John May Mitchell, founder of the museum, who died in 1985. The museum's co-founder, Betty Seabury Mitchell, 91, of Winnetka was on hand. The event raised $15,000 for museum's exhibitions and programs.
