- Dr. Alston C. Twiss, 88, of Wilmette died Jan. 13 at Evanston Hospital from complications from leukemia. Dr. Twiss was born April 25, 1918, in Rochester, Minn., to Gus and Blanche Twiss. Survivors include three sons, Alston Kirk (Connie) of Chicago, Craig (Alicia) of Plano, Texas, and Kevin (Julie) of Marietta, Ga.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eileen.
