- Unemployment was down or stayed evenin February from a month earlier among residents of all but one of area Chicago suburbs, all with a population of at least 25,000. Chart showing numbers in the labor force for the suburbs and percentage changes. Wilmette had 12,309 in the labor force as of February 2011 with an unemployment rate of 5.2% down 1.5% from a year ago.
