Elmer John Mortensen, 55, of 1734 Elmwood Avenue, Wilmette, died suddenly of a heart attack November 7 in Griffin, Ga., while en route to Florida for a vacation. Services were conducted Saturday by Dr. Carl G. Stromee at the Wilmette Baptist Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Mortensen, who was born in Chicago, had lived in Wilmette about 20 years and was a village employee. He was a World War I veteran. He is survived by his widow, Domenica; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Seremek, who lives at home; a son, Elmer J. Jr., who is in the army and is stationed at Camp Atterbury, Indiana; and two brothers Howard H. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Roy R. of Chesterton, Indiana.
