- In a letter to the editor, Dr. G. W. Boot, President of the Staff of the St. Francis Hospital, explains that some of the information concerning the lack of hospital care for those suffering from contagious diseases is erroneous. This is in regards to a circular that has been distributed in Wilmette by a committee who are soliciting funds for the endowment to the proposed North Shore Contagious Disease hospital. He backs this statement with the fact that since St. Francis Hospital opened in 1901, the hospital has treated 818 contagious cases of which 333 were entirely charity ones and 261 part charitable cases. The editors of the Lake Shore News disagree and feel strongly that another hospital is needed. The letter written by Dr. Boot is included.
