The Wilmette Village Council had its bimonthly meeting. It began with a lengthy discussion with the Board of Local Improvements. The Board discussed bids for booster pumps to increase water pressure in Wilmette. After that discussion the council proper convened with all members present except Trustee Wade. The Council covered routine business including payment of a water bill to the City of Evanston for $1033.72. Rev. J. M. Wilson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, requested that city hall open a reading room. The concensus of the Council was that it wasn't necessary since there is a public library. The Southeast Wilmette Improvement Association complained about several things including an unsightly waiting room for the Chicago & Milwaukee Railroad near Fifth St. and Greenleaf St., dim street lights and an uncomfortable trains station on Wilmette Ave. The Council decided to take up matters having to do with the train with Mr. W. O. Johnson, Receiver with the train company.
