Wilmette residents who have made a habit of circling the third Monday of every month on their calendars for School District 39 board meetings will have to change that habit, now that regular board meetings are to be held on the fourth Monday of the month.
The change, which School Board members unanimously approved at their June meeting, is to eliminate a schedule clash between District 39’s monthly sessions and New Trier High School District 203 board meetings.
Meetings will still start at 7 p.m., and take place in the Mikaelian Education Center, 615 Locust Road.
Board meetings on Dec. 12, and on March 19 and May 21 of 2012 will be exceptions to the new “fourth Monday” rule, because of winter and spring break, as well as Memorial Day.
District 39 will implement the switch in August; the board’s regular meeting is now scheduled for Aug. 22. That should also be the last time that the board meetings of the two districts conflict, because the New Trier board session is also set for Aug. 22.
