- Mayor James Russell Smart presented a partial list of his appointments to the Evanston city council Tuesday night for their approval. With the exception of Robert H. McColl, 2127 Maple ave., Evanston as city collector, the appointees also served under the Paden administration. They include John H. Moore as commissioner of public works; W. J. Hamilton as city comptroller; Dr. S. Victor Balderston as commissioner of health and Joseph L. McNab as corporation counsel.
