What People are Doing in Hubbard Woods

Miss Winnifred Hamm is out again after an attack of scarlet fever. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. Jameson last week. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Dunham have opened their home in Hubbard Woods after spending the winter in Chicago. Miss Alice Wyman, who has been suffering with an abscess of the throat, is improving. Mr. L. R. Wernecke has moved into a flat recently vacated by Mr. S. S. Barnes [Gurnee ?] [text damaged] Mrs. McKenzie of Ann Arbor, Michigan, is visiting at the home of her son, W. McKenzie. Mr. William Potes of Benton Harbor, Michigan, was the guest of his sister, Mrs. [damaged] Cummings, a few days last week. Miss Julia Larned and Miss Carrie Phelps have returned to their home in Auburn avenue after spending the winter in California. Miss Larned is very much improved in health.

Miss Helen Schneider has returned to her home in West Bend, Wisconsin, after spending several weeks with her brother, William Schneider, on Asbury avenue. The supper given by the Married Ladies' sodality of the Sacred Heart church was well attended. Supper was served to three or four hundred people. After the supper there was dancing in the church parlors. An informal reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Newton Burnham, Friday afternoon and evening, April 18, about 100 guests being present. The decorations weer daffodils, roses and ferns. Refreshments were served, the hostess being assisted by the Misses Heron, Mathews and Beek of Chicago, Mrs. Fox of Wilmette, Mrs. Allen Wolff of Winnetka, Mrs. N. Williams of Glencoe, Mesdames Brigham, Durand and Henderson of Hubbard Woods.
