Mrs. Charles E. Webb, 828 Michigan avenue, is home, from Richmond, Ind.
Dr. Frank A. Smith, 330 Greenwood boulevard, left this week for his new home in Mason City, Ia.
Mrs. T. E. Rice of St. Paul, Minn., was the guest last week of Mrs. G. R. Ballie, 922 Main street.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lee Mahln of Chicago, formerly of Evanston, left Friday to join a party in northern Michigan, where they will pass a week or so, fishing and camping.
The North End Dancing clb will give its next dance Saturday evening, May 10, at the Ouilmette Woman's club. The ladies assisting will be Mesdames H. A. Apps. John B. Ackerman, Frank S. Spohr, Harry H. Van Petten and M. C. Ruehl.
Dr. J. F. Loba, who was for fifteen years pastor of the First Congregational church, attended morning services at the church Sunday, and pronounced the benediction. Dr. Loba has come east from California to take charge of the Mormon section of "The World in Chicago" exposition at the Coliseum. A large number of the audience greeted Dr. Loba at the close of the service.
The annual meeting of the University guild will be held Tuesday, may 13, at 12 o'clock at the Northwestern gymnasium. Luncheon will follow at 1 o'clock, at 75 cents per plate. Each member is privileged to bring one guest. Responses must be in by May 8 and members will be charged for reservations whether used or not. Tickets may be purchased at the university office, 518 Davis street, Monday, may 12, from 10 a. m. until 5 p/ m/ An attractive program will follow the luncheon.
The newly elected board of directors of the Drama League of America held their first meeting Saturday morning at the Hotel La Salle. Mrs. A. Starr Best, 1936 Orrington avenue, was appointed chairman of the organization and publicity committee. Delegates from all over the country were present. The next board meeting will be held in Chicago in June. The Drama League of America had its inception in this city, and it is fitting that one of its residents should hold a prominent place in the organization.

Dr. J. F. Loba, former pastor of the First Congregational church, has come from California to take charge of the Mormon booth at the "World in Chicago" exhibition at the Coliseum.
Mrs. Henry Wittbold, Central street, near Reese avenue, has returned from Chicago, where she was called by the sudden death of her mother. Her sister, Mrs. Roden, returned with her and will make her future home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Frederk G. Simpson, 915 Forest avenue, are in Asheville, N. C., where Mr. Simpson is convalescing from a serious illness. They will return to Evanston as soon as Mr. Simpson is sufficiently recovered to travel.
Mr. A. E. Root of Detroit, Mich., is the guest of Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Root, 2409 Harrison street. He will make an extended trip through the Dakotas and Montana while his daughter, Miss Ida, who accompanied him, will remain here.
Mr. Louis Johnson of Bairdsburg, S. D., spent several days last week the guest of his uncle, Mr. James R. Rudd, 216 Rinn street. Mr. Johnson's sister, Miss Lulu Johnson, who has been the guest of her uncle, Mr. Rudd, and of her aunt, Miss Johnson, 1030 Florence avenue, since December, left for home Tuesday.

The date for the marriage of Miss Leone Giddings, 1639 Hinman avenue, daughter of the late Charles H. Giddings, and Frank Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Barrett of Wilmette, has been set for June 18. It will be held in St. Luke's chapel.
J. G. Dickerson, 823 Foster street, has recently purchased a home at 1015 Ayers place and moved there this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester B. Masslich of Bronxville, N. Y., former Evanston residents, have moved to White Plains, N. Y.
Miss Ancinette Gardner, 1218 Sheridan road, is entertaining Miss Hazel Marshall of New York and Miss Schroeder of Brooklyn.
Mr. and Mrs. Lindgren, Colfax street and Pioneer road, are planning a three months' trip to Europe. They will leave early this month.

During the absence of his family who are in Switzerland, where they will remain until October, Hon. Geo. Edmund Foss will reside at the University club, 1704 Hinman avenue.
