Circuit Court &t. Francis Marks End of Remodeling Complete modernization of St. Francis Hospital's rear center section was marked recently by the reopening of the rear doors to the main lobby. The doors were closed in 1958 at the beginning of the reconstruction phase of the Evanston hospital's $13 million building program. Work is still under way on the hospital's north and south wings. The building program includes the new Galvin Building, a $6 million center for study and treatment of cardiovascular problems. The heart-treatment center contains diagnostic and examining rooms, 12 fully equipped operating rooms, an X-ray department containing cobalt equipment, a 16cubicle intensive-care unit, an adult child guidance center, and a heartmonitering recorder. Cuts Backlog 2M01 Cases Judge John S. Boyle, chief justice of the Cook County Circuit Court, has received what his administrative officers called an "encouraging" progress report. During the first seven months of 1966, the Circuit Court reduced its backlog by 2,001 cases--leaving a backlog of 47,627. Of these, "only" half have been pending for more than two years and can be considered a problem. Judge Boyle said that with the 12 additional judges who will be assigned to the Circuit Court, he hopes that 667 cases will be removed monthly from the backlog, so that the 24,000 "unreasonably delayed" cases can be heard within just three years. During July and August, 366 cases were removed from the backlog--a slightly faster rate than the 154-case average for the sevenmonth period. 3120 W. LAKE AVE..
