Local Woman Creates Items for Holiday Sales Mrs. John A. Dawson of Winnetka has made over 500 porcelain and ceramic articles which will be among items to be sold at the eighth annual Holiday Splendor Christmas sale sponsored by the Woman's Auxiliary of the Central Baptist Children's Home. The sale will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the North Shore Baptist Church, Berwyn and Lakewood Avs., Chicago. Proceeds of the benefit will go to the children's home in Lake Villa, 111., which accommodates orphans, children from broken homes, or those with psychiatric problems. Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Johntz of Wilmette will present a program about Christmas decorations at 1:15 p.m. Tea and sandwiches will be served at 11:30 a.m. Mrs. Kenneth Petersen of Deerfield is sale chairman and among those assisting her is Mrs. Ralph Johns of Wilmette, table decorations. Southern Women To Hear Volkman Harry Volkman of Glenview, meteorologist for Radio Station WMAQ and Channel 5, will be the guest speaker for the S outhern Women's Club of Chicago at noon luncheon today in Stouffer's Restaurant, Old Orchard. The club was formed 56 years ago and is a member of the Mr. Volkman Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs. Aid is given to the Sprule Mountain School, Sprule, Ky.; Children's Memorial Hospital; Lincoln Lodge; Boys Town of Illinois; McCormick's Boys Club; Downey Veterans' Administration Hospital; CARE, and "Dollars for Scholars."
