Resident, Taken by Death Funeral ser vices for Baptist Miller, former residem of Wilmette, were held Thursday, February 21, at St. Josep h's c hurch. Mr. Miller passed away Friday, February 15, at his home in Los Angele s, Ca l. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Miller was a resident of Wilmette over a period of 55 years, moving to the coast city about three years ago. He wa s th e owner of Wilmette's first meat market and was New Trier Township treasurer for 20 years. He was one of the best known residents of the north shore. He is survived by two daughters, Josephine and Louise, and a son, Henry. Council William Obermeier was appointed lecturer of Ouilmette Council, Knights of Columbus, Tuesday of last week to succeed Peter Golbach, who resigned ncently because of lack of time to a:ive to the duties of the office. Following a conference with leaders of the council, Mr. Obermeier announced a change in the usual program for the annual Ladies Night, scheduled for February 26. Instead of a card party, a "home talent" entertainment will be given, followed by a luncheon prepared with the assistance of the women guests.
