The buildings purchased 11 dl be used until a modern brick and terra cotta structure is erected two years hence to replace both. The Highland fireproof 'building is located on a site 40 by 200 feet, with a floor space of 25,000 square feet. The deal provided for the transfer of the fu ll e4uipment of vans and trucks. Al exander Rafferty, former part owner and manager of the Highland Park Transfer company, has been plac~ in charge of the new concern. He wtll work under the stockholders of the Evanston company: Mr. Iredale, presidenc · G. B. Anderson, secretary-treasurer: Mrs. Walter H. Iredale, and Mrs. And~rson and Mrs. H. M. Prior, sisters of Mr. Ircdale. D. C. Purdy and Son were owners of the Highland Park Transfer company building purchased by the Evanston company. They operated a hardware store in connection with the storage plant. Until a new building which is under way is completed, Purdy & Son will co~tif:'UC to reser':e a portion ~f the bUtldmg for the1r store. Thetr new building will be completed about August 1, when the Highland Park Transfer & Storage company will take full possession of the building. The Iredale Warehouse company has its main office in Evanston, and a branch company in Winnetka. With the establishment of two more branches in Highland Park, it will serve residents as far north as Lake Forest. George S. Kingsley has drawn plans for the new building. TJtee stories will rise on a site so by ISO feet, but will be built for a five story height. This building will not be started however, for at least two years, Mr. Iredale said. In the meantime, the two build· ings just purchased will be used for the more distant towns on the north shore.
